So, I heard you and Matt were headed state-side. I couldn't figure out a good way to contact you, and thought a good ol' stalkery google search might be the answer. If you guys get bored in Paris, I'd love to see you two.

I've just finished reading Tender at the Bone by Ruth Reichl so I will definitely have to make an effort to read the Paris book.

I don't know if you've seen but Gourmet are launching a Gourmet Live app for iPhone and iPad, there's a video here: http://live.gourmet.com/

Try Aagrah cafe in Clarence Dock. Always friendly (bordering on enthusiastic) and "tapas" style portions, I don't know bout you but I never finish my bowl of curry, and these portions are perfect. (and tasty)

There's also an aagrah by BBC leeds but never tried it

This was the place where I had my fist ever curry (that I can remember anyway). Circa 1990-93. It still looks exactly how I remember it, and the service seems to be as lax, too! I haven't been back - I've had too many mediocre reports from people(like yourself) to warrant it!!

If you find a place that sells Krispy Kremes made on site, go for it! They are definitely worth it for a treat. Unfortunately, like most fried donuts, they go stale really, really fast. I've seen them at Tescos here and there, but I would never buy them at a grocery store, because they've probably been around for at least a couple of days.
